Once you are in the vehicle and ready to go, follow the arrows towards the exit. The barrier opens automatically after a couple of seconds — if it does not respond straight away, just move a little closer. At the roundabout, turn right and you are out of the airport and heading towards Queenstown, the Crown Range, or wherever the trip takes you first.
Why travellers skip the rental desk at ZQN
Queenstown Airport does have rental desks inside the terminal, but the experience is familiar to most travellers: a queue, a stack of forms, an upsell conversation, and then a walk to a separate car park to find your vehicle. For a short domestic flight that is manageable, but after a long-haul arrival or a connection through Auckland or Christchurch, it is the last thing you want.

Returning at Queenstown Airport
Returning your vehicle is easy. Exact drop-off details are sent on WhatsApp before you return — please follow those instructions on the day, as they can differ from pickup.
Please refuel before you head back to the airport. We operate full-to-full, so filling up first avoids any extra charges. There are fuel stations in Frankton a few minutes from the terminal.
